Thought Spread

We live in a fast pace world. A world where a persons day depends on the efficiency of others. Sometimes its nice to slow down and think about the things that are important to you. The things you are thankful for. While most us, including me, will say they are thankful for the friends and family, we will also forget to mention that we are thankful for times when things slow down and the memories we have made along the way.

The other day Rachel and I were talking about what we would be doing if we had the choice to do anything we wanted without the stress or paying bills and worrying about paychecks. She mentioned that she would love to write and/or be a book critic. She also decided to continue working on a blog she had started many months ago. I followed suit because I'd like to put some things in writing that I can later look back on; and if you're thinking about putting something in writing that you won't lose, the internet is as good a place as any. After all, we all know that anything you put on the internet is permanent.

When its all said and done I'm not sure what the overall topic of my blog will be. Maybe it will be about sports or just an overall stress reliever. One thing I am sure about, however, is that it will be nothing more than my opinions or thoughts that I'd like to look back at later.

I have plenty opinions about sports and I thinks its amazing that people actually get paid to share their opinions on such matters. While most of my opinions are formed after gathering information from other sources (i.e. ESPN and the previously mentioned, always truthful, everlasting internet), I think it would be fun to share some of my more original opinions.

This weekend is a popular weekend for anyone to have a sports opinion. It is, after all, Super Bowl weekend. That being said, my opinion is as follows;

The Saints may have the sympathy vote from a lot of people, but not from me. While I, like most of the county, was devastated to see the effects that hurricane Katrina could have on so many people, I don't think that will have any effect on the outcome of this game.

I believe the Saints do have a high octane offense like everyone has talked about all year, but I also believe that same offense has benefited by the field position given to them by their defense and all those turnovers. Turnovers that they won't get from Manning and the Colts. There may be more Saints fans that ride the wave of emotion down to Miami for the game, but I believe the Colts will come away with the win, covering the six point spread.

Well... this is my rookie attempt at a blog. We'll see what I think of my own sports opinion after the game tomorrow.
